Protected Trees

There are usually two reasons for having to apply for tree work:

  • If the tree or trees are specifically protected by a TPO (tree preservation order). This does not mean that we cannot carry out any work but unless the tree is in a dangerous state we have to apply.
  • If your garden falls within a conservation area then depending on the size of your tree we may have to apply to carry out work. A conservation area is applied to a blanket area rather than putting a TPO on every tree.

We are happy to give free advice on what work may be allowed to be carried out on a tree and if we are employed by you to do the work we will complete all the paperwork free of charge.
